We Are Loving Preschool!!!

 3 days a week we have centers.  In our centers, we have a craft station, a station to review letters and a station to review numbers.

We have outside classes 2 times a week.  

Reminders

Thank you for doing a great job and making sure your child has tennis shoes for P.E. The morning class has it Tuesday mornings and the afternoon class has it Friday afternoons. 

Every Monday we learn a new color and we ask the students to bring an item of that color to go on our color pole. Here is a schedule of those color weeks: 

Sept. 19-Purple

Sept. 26-Orange

Oct. 3- Black

Oct. 10- White

Oct. 17- Brown

Oct. 24 -Gray

Oct. 31-Pink

On Late Start days, the morning class will not have class on those days.

Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten

The Prekindergarten class is off to a fantastic start.  We are busy playing with our new friends and trying to remember all the new names.  All the students have settled in and the first day tears are long gone. 

Students are busy working with colors, numbers and letters at the present time.  Students love working with the Animated Alphabet.  You will have to ask your child to sing the song and show you the actions they have learned.

We have a color pole in our classroom.  We will spend a week on each color.  The students are having fun bringing an item for our pole each week.  Students put their item on the pole at the beginning of the week and it remains there until Friday.  You can see what color we are on each week by visiting this page http://marshallpre-k.blogspot.com/p/color-of-week.html. 

Painting and recess are always a favorite activity.  We are working on small and large motor activities on a daily basis.  We are beginning to work on the formation of letters in hopes that we will be able to recognize some student names before long. The students enjoy their center time, which is three times a week.  They rotate from three different activities, which include a craft, a number game and an alphabet game. 

The students are also enjoying their outside classes.  They have P.E., Music, Library and Computer lab once a week.  Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on P.E. day. The morning class has P.E. on Tuesday and the Afternoon class has it on Friday.  

Sometimes the students get cold, please send a light jacket that they can leave in the classroom. 

Please make sure to check their folder every night.
